The annual Showdown Parade this year will be kicking off a very important year for the Grande Prairie Stompede.
Stompede is celebrating its 40th year and what better way to get the week going then with a parade down the heart of the city.
This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30 at 6 p.m.
Entrants in the parade can begin marshalling at Hillside School at 1 p.m. with the last entrant expected to be in place by 5 p.m.
At 6 p.m. they’re off from 95th Street and then head west on 100th Avenue ending up at Muskoseepi Park.
For those interested in participating the categories include corporate/commercial float, musical, children, horse drawn float, non-profit float, heavy horse hitch and miscellaneous horse entry.
