The new Miss Rodeo Canada is Samantha Stokes, who was crowned Miss Grande Prairie Stompede in 2014.
She is a 19-year-old small town farm girl from High Prairie, Alberta.
Samantha recently completed the first year of her Bachelor of Education Degree and hopes of one day teaching kindergarten.
Throughout her childhood, Samantha’s strong passion for animals led her in many directions.
She was an active member in 4-H for five years and participated in projects such as horse, steer, heifer, market lamb and ewe.
She dedicated the majority of her years to holding executive positions such as secretary and then club president for two years.
Samantha has also been an active member of the Elks Pro Rodeo Grand Entry team for five years and was honoured when asked to become a director this year and coach the Drill Team.
In her spare time, Samantha enjoys working on the community pasture looking after large herds of cattle.
Her goal in life is to instill strong morals and values into the children who cross her path on the rodeo trail and share her love for the sport of rodeo and western way of life.
