It’s that time of year again.
The snow is melting and chuckwagon drivers from around Alberta and Saskatchewan will be tuning up their steeds in preparation for the coming season of racing.
And as important as a good reinsmen and good horses are to success so are good sponsors.
There would be no chuckwagon racing without sponsors and over the next few weeks companies will have an opportunity to step up and show their commitment at various tarp sales.
One of the first is the Calgary Stampede tarp sale being held at the Boyce Theatre at Stampede Park on March 23.
The first local tarp sale takes place on March 29th in Calgary where drivers performing in the Grande Prairie Stompede and Teepee Creek Stampede will be up for auction with hopes they’ll garner some funds that will help get them through the season.
The Taste The Dust Tour tarp sale goes in Clairmont at JP Outpost.
Registration is at 5 p.m. with the sale beginning at 6 p.m.
On April 6 at Maddhatters in Grande Prairie the World Professional Chuckwagon Association, with 36 drivers performing at Stompede May 31-June 4 at Evergreen Park, will be holding its auction.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and sale starts at 6 p.m.
